사랑커뮤니티센터 소개

저희 사랑커뮤니티센터는 교육과 봉사, 구제를 통하여 지역사회를 사랑으로 섬기기 위해 설립된 기독교 단체입니다.

본 센터는 2006년 10월 설립되었으며, 자원봉사자들과 개인후원자들의 참여를 통하여 이웃사랑을 실천하고 있습니다.  또한 타민족 섬김을 통하여 지역사회에서 한인들의 위상을 높이고 있습니다.

운영에 있어서는 현재 개인후원자들의 후원과 지역교회 및 단체들의 후원으로 운영되며, 스텝의 대부분이 자원봉사자들로 이루어져 있고  Part time 강사들이 교육을 담당하고 있습니다.

현재 컴퓨터교실과 영어교실, 미술교실과 사진교실, 그리고 무료식사와 구제사역 등을 통하여 지역 커뮤니티를 섬기고 있습니다.

우리의 비전은 모든 사람들이 하나님께서 주시는 풍성한 삶을 누리는 것이며, 우리의 사명은 예수님처럼 이 일에 밑거름이 되고 또한 모범이 되는 것입니다.

History

2006년 10월              사랑커뮤니티센터 설립(설립자: 주성률 목사, 김태철 목사, 류요셉, 김경석)
컴퓨터교육과 영어교육, 구제사역 시작

2009년 4월  - 현재      아침 구제사역 (커피, 물, 빵, 의류), (새선교교회, 빌립보선교교회와 협력), (파리바게트와 가나안제과에서 빵 후원)

2009년 4월 - 2012. 12       장학회 설립 (뉴욕 장학생 3인 선발, 서울 장학생 3인 선발 후 장학금 지급)

2009년 7월                 뉴욕 및 뉴저지주에 비영리단체 등록 (주성률 목사, 김태철 목사, 김경석)

2010년 11월 - 현재      미술교실과 사진교실 개설

2011년 8월 - 2016. 3        피아노교실, 노래교실 개설

2012년 3월 - 2015. 3        매월 1회 무료 가족사진 촬영 시작

2012년 4월 - 2014. 11        매주 화요일 히스패닉 노숙자 및 노무자 점심사역 시작
(Go4Jesus 협력사역, 담당: 주성률 목사)

2012년 7월 - 현재        'LOVE BANK' (식료품 및 의류를 모아 지역사회의 빈곤층에게 나누어 주는 사역을 칭함) 새선교교회와 협력

2012년 7월 - 현재           목요일 무료 저녁식사 제공 (한인 대상) NY Love Mission과 협력

Goals: 본 센터는 교육을 통하여 한인 이민사회의 삶의 질을 높이고, 봉사자들의 참여를 통하여 이웃사랑을 실천하며, 나누는 기쁨을 통하여 삶을 윤택하게 하는 것을 주 목적으로 하고 있습니다.  또한 타민족 섬김을 통하여 지역사회에서 한인들의 위상을 높이고 지역사회의 리더로서 풍성한 삶을 누리게 돕는 것이 저희 단체의 사명입니다.

선한맘선교(Good Heart Mission) 구제 및 사회봉사

매  주 금요일 아침 빵과 커피를 나누어주는 사역과 매 월 노숙자를 찾아가 사랑을 나누고 있습니다.  매주 목요일에는 FOOD BANK사역을 통하여 지역 빈곤자들에게 음식과 의류를 제공하고 있습니다. 그 외에도 비정기적으로 센터에 찾아오시는 어려움에 처한 분들에게 도움을 드리고있습니다.

구제 사역을 통하여 지역사회에 나눔과 섬김의 본을 보이며, 주는 사람이나 받는 사람 모두 풍성한 삶을 누리게 하는 것이 저희 사랑커뮤니티센터의 목표입니다.

이 사역을 위하여 'Farmbria Supermarket' 에서 식료품을, '파리바게트'와 '가나안제과'에서 빵을 후원하여 주십니다.

Donate to Our Community Center

About the Sarang Community Center

Since October of 2006, The Sarang Community Center has been established as a non-profit organization. Our purpose and goal is to provide education services and community support for various groups who are in need.

We are funded by small amounts of donations given by individuals who take part in our services. These donations are used to improve our facilities and to enhance our services to the community.

OUTREACH SERVICES

Bread & Coffee: Every  Fridays we provide bread and coffee to the poor in the mornings on the street. We also invite those who are facing difficulties in their lives to our community center so that we can help them in any way possible.

So far we have helped about 200 people with food and clothing. By doing so we have set an example for other community centers in providing relief.

Dinner: Every Thursdays we provide free dinner for those in need.

Love Bank: We receive donations (can food, bread, rice, cup noodle, clothing, blanket) from companies, individuals and distributes them to the poor.

Good Samaritan: Once a month we help a person who is struggling.

By the support of companis below, we at Sarang Community Center are able to do our ministry in helping the poor and hungry in our community.

CLASSES

Computer Class:

Beginner (3 months): Learn basic computer skills and how to use certain programs.
Intermediate (1 year): As students progress, they will soon gain a level of confidence to find work or to enjoy working with computers as a hobby.

Art Class: Art is a subject where one is able to engage in abstract thinking. Through art, one can gain confidence and learn to become more creative. Students are also able to express their emotions through their drawings. Currently we teach 8 art classes a week. Students also take part in Art contests and other competitions. We’ve helped students in achieving high scores and prizes.

English Class:  One of the main obstacles faced by any non-English speaking immigrant is the language barrier. Upon arriving in the US, they must all know that English is the official language. Having some understanding and knowledge of the English language is crucial in overcoming their fears residing in the US.

Photography Class:  Taking pictures enhances one’s quality of life. Through picture-taking many treasured moments are remembered and cherished.
